Did you know you can attend an art auction on a cruise? Yep—one of our favorite surprises on this 12-night Japan to South Korea cruise was discovering the onboard Art Gallery. We got to admire pieces by Thomas Kinkade, Salvador Dalí, and yes—even Picasso himself!

The auction was a vibe—learning about the artists, the stories behind each work, and watching people bid on their dream piece. And guess what? If you fall in love with a painting, they’ll ship it right to your home. No bubble wrap or carry-on drama needed!

🛍️ Shopping at Sea: Yes, Please!

Retail therapy, anyone? The Celebrity Shops brought all the luxury vibes. From high-end jewelry and designer watches to premium spirits, cosmetics, and exclusive collections—you could seriously shop till you dock.

One pro tip? If you see something you love, grab it. Popular items go fast, and the special sales are 🔥. We stumbled upon a $10 sale where nearly everything was marked down—talk about a steal! Don’t forget to swing by Effy Jewelry daily—they give out free charms each day (yes, really!).

Our guide, Allen, shared how this all began back in 1947, when sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski arrived in the Black Hills from Connecticut… to a place with no roads, no water, no electricity. He literally lived in a tent for seven months before clearing trees and building a log studio by hand. By the late 1950s, with ten kids to raise, the family even opened a dairy farm right on site — and today they still raise cattle here. Oh — and the very first admission to Crazy Horse in 1950? 👉 Just 50 cents per carload.
