Hawaii Part 2 - Day 1 - Honolulu Airport and Aqua Palms Waikiki 🌺🌴 ALOHA FROM PARADISE! BUT WE ALMOST HAD A TRAVEL DISASTER! ✈️😱 HAWAII PART 2 – DAY 1: HONOLULU AIRPORT & AQUA PALMS WAIKIKI! 🌈 We've officially landed in HAWAII, and can we just talk about how BEAUTIFUL the airport is?! 😍 All that lush tropical greenery! And don't even get me started on Hawaii's RAINBOW license plates! 🌈❤️ Our first stop was picking up our rental car, then checking into Aqua Palms Waikiki, our home for the next two nights before boarding Celebrity Edge! 🚢 🏨 WHY WE CHOSE AQUA PALMS WAIKIKI: 📍 Convenient Waikiki location 🛍️ Walking distance to shopping and restaurants 🚗 On-site parking 💰 Reasonably priced for our stay But here's where things got INTERESTING! 😬 My daughters were flying separately from Orlando and Fort Myers, planning to meet in Houston and continue to Hawaii together. Unfortunately, Ilise's flight was DELAYED, and she missed her connecting flight! 😱 Thankfully, she still arrived in Hawaii that same night! 🚨 MY BIGGEST CRUISE TRAVEL TIP: ALWAYS ARRIVE AT LEAST A DAY EARLY! We planned TWO extra days in Honolulu, and I'm so glad we did! Flight delays happen, and the last thing you want is to miss your cruise because of a missed connection! Carnival Glory Cruise Day 2 - Celebration Key Part 2 🎉 NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CALL IT CELEBRATION KEY! 🌴 Just when I thought we had seen the best of Carnival’s private destination, we heard the drums… 🥁 Then came the trumpets, percussion, dancing, incredible costumes and a Caribbean-style parade filled with energy! 💃🏾🎺 After the party passed, we checked out the map—and WOW. 🤯 Celebration Key is much bigger than it first appears! Carnival Glory Cruise Day 1 - Dinner 🍫🍸 Is it even cruise dinner if your cocktail doesn’t come with its own SHOW?! Day 1 aboard the Carnival Glory continues, and tonight we’re having dinner at the Golden Restaurant, one of the ship’s main dining rooms. 🚢🍽️ And we are DEFINITELY making use of that drink package. 😂 First up: Carnival’s Chocolate Martini with vanilla vodka, white and dark crème de cacao, and that gorgeous chocolate swirl. Watching our server pour it was almost as much fun as drinking it! First, we came back from our meeting to find fresh chocolate-covered strawberries waiting in our room. 🍓🍫 Then I finally checked something off my Margaritaville must-do list: 🍔 Cheeseburger in Paradise! Because seriously…can you sail on a Jimmy Buffett-inspired cruise and NOT eat a Cheeseburger in Paradise?! 😂 But my favorite surprise may have been the Great Towel Animal Parade! 🐒🐘🦆 The crew showed off their incredible towel creations while passengers cheered them on—and the crew section with the loudest support could earn some extra time off. You better believe we CHEERED! 👏 We finished the evening with one last delicious dinner at Fins Dining Room. The food was wonderful, the portions were HUGE, and suddenly it hit us… THIS WAS OUR LAST NIGHT! 😭 But do you really think we went back to our room and went to sleep? We've arrived in Cozumel, Mexico, but before exploring, I had some very important business to take care of… 💚 THE PISTACHIO CREAM CROISSANT CUBE! I'd seen someone else try this thing, and it looked INCREDIBLE. She pulled it apart effortlessly. Beautiful flaky layers. Pistachio cream everywhere. Total food-content perfection. 😍 So when they asked me if I wanted mine warmed, what did I say? “No, thank you.” WHY, SIVA?! WHY?! 😂😂😂 Then came my big Instagram-worthy pull-apart moment… 💥 DISASTER. We went later in the evening, and I actually loved it! It was quieter, more relaxed, and the service was fantastic. ❤️ Then I spotted something I'd heard about… 🍄 THE MUSHROOM RISOTTO! Obviously, I had to try it. 😂 By dessert, we were STUFFED and almost decided we'd had enough. Our server disagreed. 😂 Not only did we get dessert—he brought us an EXTRA dessert to try! 🍰 Was I hungry? No. Did I eat it anyway? And if you know me, you know that's saying something! 😂 But then came dessert… There were plenty of complimentary sweets available at the buffet, but my eyes wandered over to the dessert case at the Margaritaville Coffee Shop. 👀 And then I saw it… 🦜🍰 THE PARROT CAKE! Yes, it costs extra. Yes, there were free desserts nearby. And YES…I bought it anyway. 😂 But come on—LOOK AT THAT LITTLE PARROT! Margaritaville FAM Trip Part 10 - Day 3 Progreso, Mexico Part 2 WOULD I EXPLORE PROGRESO THIS WAY AGAIN? Probably not—and that’s exactly why I’m sharing our experience! 👀 Welcome to Part 10 of my Margaritaville FAM Trip! 🚢🌴 We hopped on the shuttle into Progreso with no real plans and, to be completely transparent, the city itself wasn’t quite what we expected. But here’s the important part: that doesn’t mean there’s nothing worth experiencing in the Yucatán! There are beaches, cenotes, Mayan archaeological sites, and incredible experiences beyond the port. We really wanted to see Chichén Itzá, but with the travel time involved, we decided it wasn’t the right choice for this particular port day. If I visited Progreso again, I’d do one of two things: ✨ Plan an excursion ahead of time 🍹 OR stay near the port, grab a cold drink, find a swing, and RELAX! Margaritaville FAM Trip Part 8 - After Party 🌴🍹 THIS might have been my favorite moment of the night… We stopped at the Flip Flop Bar for one last drink before heading back to our room—but on the way, we spotted the CUTEST thing. 🥹❤️ An elderly couple were the only two people on the dance floor, just dancing the night away without a care in the world. No crowd needed. No worrying about who was watching. Just the two of them enjoying the music and each other. Seriously… THAT is how I want to live. 💃🕺 And when we finally made it back to our cabin? The room had been cleaned, the bed turned down, and a little towel crab was waiting for us. 🦀😂 It was the perfect ending to Day 2 aboard Margaritaville at Sea! They definitely understood the tropical assignment. 😂🌴 From the colorful birds overlooking the Flip Flop Atrium Bar to breakfast at the Port of Indecision Buffet, this ship is giving us plenty to explore. Then it was time for me to head to the Coral Reef Lounge and actually do some WORK—because this is a FAM trip, after all! We stopped at Nori Nori Craft Handrolls, and from the FIVE beautifully prepared handrolls to my Torched Eel Donburi and Pressed Sushi, this was definitely a fun foodie find! But one of my favorite little details? The soy sauce dropper bottle! 😂 I’d never seen soy sauce served like this before, but once the handrolls arrived, it made total sense. Drip exactly where you want it and dig in! Taste Test 🫐🥭 THESE VIRAL DESSERTS KEPT SHOWING UP ON MY FEED…so obviously I had to investigate! 😂 Come taste test with me at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. in Temple Terrace! ☕️ First up: that gorgeous Blueberry Mousse Dessert. It literally looks like a giant blueberry until you crack through the outer shell and discover the creamy mousse, sponge cake and fruity goodness hiding inside. 😍 Then came the Mango Mousse—another almost-too-pretty-to-eat dessert. I said ALMOST. 😂🥭 For drinks, we tried the creamy Iced Matcha Elixir and the colorful, tropical Mango Dragonfruit Refresher. But what makes this coffee shop even more interesting is the culture behind it. MSC Divina Cruise Part 31 - Day 10 Last Night on the Ship 🚢❤️ We booked a 10-DAY CRUISE the DAY BEFORE it sailed… Were we completely crazy?! 😂 Maybe. But after ten days aboard MSC Divina, I can finally give you my verdict: I WOULD ABSOLUTELY SAIL MSC AGAIN! This cruise surprised me in so many ways. 🍹 The drinks were fantastic. 🙌 The bartenders and crew were amazing. 🎭 We loved the entertainment. 🌎 We visited incredible destinations. 🛏️ We even received a complimentary upgrade to a Premium Balcony! But my favorite part wasn't something we booked. It was the people. ❤️ One of the things I loved about this sailing was meeting people from all over. We made friends from the Carolinas, West Virginia, California, England, Scotland…and somehow even met a few former FBI agents! 😂 Ten days earlier, we didn't know any of these people. By the end? We were looking forward to seeing them every day. And then came our final night… Let's just say WE WENT OUT WITH A BANG! 🍹💃😂 Unfortunately, I was also the only one driving home the next day. 0/10 recommend the drive. 10/10 recommend the memories. 😂 Sometimes the best adventures aren't the ones you spend months planning. MSC Divina Cruise Part 29 - Day 10 Italian Night ❤️🚢 Our final dinner aboard MSC Divina wasn't really about the food…it was about the PEOPLE. Ten days ago, some of the people sitting around this table were complete strangers. By our final night? They were the people we looked forward to seeing every single day. ❤️ And our last meal couldn't have been more fitting. We celebrated Italian Night 🇮🇹, but even more importantly, it was also Crew Appreciation Night. The waitstaff came together and walked through the dining room as guests recognized them for everything they had done throughout our cruise. MSC Divina Cruise Part 24 - Day 8 White Party 🤍🚢 POV: The cruise itinerary says WHITE PARTY… and you understood the assignment! But first… JELLYFISH SHOTS! 🪼🥃😂 One of the things I didn't expect to love so much about cruising was the people we'd meet along the way. Fellow cruisers become friends, bartenders remember you, and before you know it, your favorite bar becomes the meeting place every night. And Pritvi was one of those crew members we'll remember! ❤️ From making me ginger-and-lemon tea when I wasn't feeling my best to introducing us to one of the coolest shots I've ever seen, he took amazing care of us. MSC Divina Cruise Part 23 - Day 8 Aruba Gateway To India Restaurant Cruise food is FREE… so why did we PAY to eat in Aruba? 👀🇦🇼 Because sometimes you need to get off the ship and taste something completely different! Before heading back to MSC Divina, we stumbled upon Gateway To India Aruba, an Indian restaurant just a short walk from the Aruba Cruise Port. And I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed, and because we visited during a quieter time, we even had a chance to chat with the owner and chef. Then Aruba's famous wind decided to join us for lunch. 😂 Food blew off the table, and the roaming chickens immediately went to work as our all-natural vacuum cleaners! 🐓💨 These are the experiences I love about travel. MSC Divina Cruise Part 22 - Day 8 Aruba Part 2 Sometimes losing your seat is the BEST thing that can happen! 😂 Welcome back to Aruba! After losing our seats on the Oranjestad Streetcar, we decided to take the scenic route back to MSC Divina—and I'm so glad we did. Oranjestad is absolutely bursting with personality. 🌈 Colorful architecture, public swings, beautiful streets, and those mysterious BLUE HORSES! 🐴💙 Fun fact: The eight blue horses scattered around downtown aren't just photo ops. They're part of the Paardenbaai Aruba project and represent an important piece of the island's history. Oranjestad's harbor was once known as “Horse Bay,” and Aruba played a role in the regional horse trade centuries ago. I LOVE discovering little pieces of history like this when I travel! MSC Divina Cruise Part 21 - Day 8 Aruba Part 1 ARUBA… you had me at that WATER! 😍🌊 Day 8 aboard MSC Divina brought us to beautiful Oranjestad, and the view from our balcony alone was enough to take my breath away. But one of my favorite memories happened completely by accident. We hopped aboard the FREE Oranjestad Streetcar, learned a little Aruba history, made the rookie mistake of getting off without saving our seats 😂… and suddenly found ourselves exploring the city on foot. That little mishap led us to an art gallery where we met local artist Fernando Vermeer. We ended up sharing a cold beer while hearing stories about his childhood, his artwork, and the island that inspires him. 🎬 Gone Fishing at Fort Myers Beach! 🎣🐬 🎣 Want to experience one of the best adventures on Fort Myers Beach? Grab your family and let's head offshore for an unforgettable day of deep-sea fishing! We've been out with Captain Tony's Fishing Adventures several times, and they never disappoint. Whether you're an experienced angler or you've never held a fishing rod before, this trip is designed for everyone. The crew provides all the fishing gear, bait, and expert guidance—you simply bring your favorite snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure! One of my favorite parts happens before the fishing even begins. As the boat leaves Fort Myers Beach, keep your eyes on the wake behind you. Here's a pro tip: stand near the back of the boat with your camera ready because dolphins are frequent visitors! They love racing alongside the boat, and it's one of the most magical sights you'll see. 🐬 After about an hour on the water, it's time to drop your lines in search of snapper, grouper, and whatever else is biting that day. If you're like me and don't exactly enjoy touching fish, don't worry! The friendly crew is always happy to bait your hook, remove your catch, and help every step of the way. They make the experience fun and stress-free for everyone. You never know what incredible wildlife you'll encounter out here and we spotted a huge sea turtle cruising through the Gulf! On the ride back to the marina, another show begins. Watch for the pelicans! They know exactly when the fishing boats return because it's feeding time. As the crew cleans everyone's catch at the dock, the pelicans patiently wait nearby for their own seafood feast. It's nature's version of an all-you-can-eat buffet and a fun sight to watch! Fun fact: Southwest Florida is home to some of the most productive fishing waters in the Gulf of Mexico, making Fort Myers Beach a favorite destination for anglers looking to reel in snapper, grouper, sharks, and many other local species throughout the year. 🎬 Birthday Celebration in Downtown Fort Myers | Hidden Gems You Need to Visit! 🎉 Who says you have to travel far to celebrate like you're on vacation? Sometimes the best adventures are waiting right in your own hometown! It’s my birthday! After an unforgettable gondola ride in Naples, we headed back home to Downtown Fort Myers to continue celebrating my 50th birthday, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint! Our first stop was Izzy's Fish & Oyster, a stylish seafood restaurant known for its fresh seafood, lively atmosphere, and incredible raw bar. We kicked off the evening with a couple of cocktails, a delicious octopus appetizer, and their famous crab cakes. For dinner, my husband ordered the perfectly seared ahi tuna, while I enjoyed the fresh catch served over creamy risotto. And because it was my birthday, the staff surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert! 🎂 Of course, I made a wish before blowing out the candle—and yes, it was absolutely delicious! But the celebration wasn't over yet! Just a short walk away, we discovered a brand-new bar called The G Spot. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was fun, and to my surprise, they treated me to another complimentary birthday dessert. Talk about feeling spoiled! One of my favorite discoveries wasn't even on the menu—it was hidden in the hallway leading to the restrooms. The space doubles as a mini art gallery, and one stunning 3D peacock-inspired artwork completely stopped me in my tracks. It was colorful, creative, and absolutely mesmerizing.
