Celebrity Millennium Cruise – Sea Day in Japan πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

Sea Day in Japan

There’s nothing quite like a sea day on a cruise—and on Day 7 of our Japan adventure aboard the Celebrity Millennium, we finally got to slow down, relax, and soak up some sunshine. After days of exploring ports, temples, and city streets, having a full day at sea to recharge felt like the ultimate luxury.

Morning Rituals: Coffee, Tea & Biscotti β˜•πŸͺ

We started our morning at Café al Baccio, one of the coziest spots on the ship. This café is famous among Celebrity cruisers for its Italian-style coffee, premium teas, and delightful little treats like biscotti. Pro tip: snagging a window seat here with your latte is one of the most peaceful ways to start your day at sea.ο»Ώ

Deck 11: All the Vitamin Sea You Need 🌞

Next stop—Deck 11! After a week of unpredictable weather, today was pure magic: blue skies, sunshine, and that warm summer air that makes you want to stay outside all day. Whether you want to lounge by the pool, stretch out on a deck chair with a book, or just watch the endless horizon, the top deck is where all the sea-day magic happens.ο»Ώ

Fun fact: Did you know the Celebrity Millennium underwent a massive “Celebrity Revolution” renovation in 2019? That means new staterooms, upgraded restaurants, and a refreshed pool deck—all designed to make days like this even better.

Shopping at Sea πŸ›οΈ

Sea days are perfect for a little retail therapy, and the Celebrity Shops on Deck 3 didn’t disappoint. Cruise shopping means duty-free deals on jewelry, watches, perfume, and souvenirs, and we even scored some great flash sale bargains. My personal highlight? Picking up another charm from Effy Jewelry to add to my necklace—it’s becoming a beautiful travel keepsake of this journey.ο»Ώ

Lunch with a View 🍴

The buffet on sea days is always buzzing, and it’s the best place to sample a little bit of everything. From fresh salads to global cuisine stations, there’s no shortage of delicious options. And honestly, food just tastes better when you’re surrounded by ocean views.ο»Ώ

Exploring the Ship 🚒

One of the coolest things about cruising is that no matter how many days you spend on board, there are always new corners of the ship to discover. The Celebrity Millennium is full of lounges, quiet hideaways, and entertainment spaces that surprise you when you least expect it. On a sea day, you finally have time to wander and take it all in.ο»Ώ

Why Sea Days Are Special 🌊

If you’ve never been on a cruise before, don’t underestimate the value of a good sea day. It’s your chance to reset, enjoy the ship itself, and connect with fellow travelers. On port days you’re busy exploring, but on a sea day, the cruise becomes the destination.

As a travel blogger and certified travel agent, I can honestly say sea days often become guests’ favorite part of the itinerary. It’s when you truly feel the magic of being out at sea—miles away from everything, with nothing but time, sunshine, and endless ocean.

Stay tuned for our next adventure as we continue sailing through Japan on the Celebrity Millennium!ο»Ώ

Did you know there’s a place in South Dakota where you can literally take home a piece of history? πŸ‘€ Yep—welcome back to Part 3 of our Crazy Horse Memorial adventure, where we dive into one of the most meaningful and fascinating areas of the entire complex: the Native American Educational and Cultural Center. Located in the heart of the Black Hills of South Dakota, Crazy Horse Memorial is already one of the most awe-inspiring monuments in the United States—but stepping into this center takes the experience to a whole new level.

πŸ‘€ “Would you believe me if I told you this mountain has had over ELEVEN MILLION tons of rock blasted away… and it’s still not finished? Let me show you why this $5 tour is one of the best travel deals in America.” Welcome to Part 2 of our Crazy Horse Memorial adventure — and today we’re hopping on the guided bus tour that takes you right up to the mountain itself. For just five dollars per person, this ride gets you shockingly close to the carving-in-progress — and trust me… hearing the story while standing beneath it hits completely different. Our guide, Allen, shared how this all began back in 1947, when sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski arrived in the Black Hills from Connecticut… to a place with no roads, no water, no electricity. He literally lived in a tent for seven months before clearing trees and building a log studio by hand. By the late 1950s, with ten kids to raise, the family even opened a dairy farm right on site — and today they still raise cattle here. Oh — and the very first admission to Crazy Horse in 1950? πŸ‘‰ Just 50 cents per carload.

This isn’t just another quick roadside attraction. It’s one of the largest mountain carving projects in the world… and it’s still being built today. If you’re planning a Mount Rushmore road trip, a South Dakota vacation, or a national parks adventure, put this stop high on your list.

Only in South Korea would a robot greet you the moment you step into the airport. Welcome to Incheon International Airport, where technology meets tranquility — and yes, your travel expectations will never be the same after this. The first thing that hit me wasn’t the size (though it’s massive) — it was how quiet and calm everything felt.
