Make Your Own Noodle Bowl at Sea 🍜✨

When you think of cruise ship breakfast, you probably picture pancakes, waffles, and maybe a classic omelet station. But on Day 6 of my Japan cruise aboard the Celebrity Millennium, I discovered something a little different—and a whole lot more exciting: the Make Your Own Noodle Bowl station at the Oceanview Café.

And let me tell you, this was not your average breakfast.

Build Your Own Bowl: Noodles at Sea

The concept is simple but genius: grab a bowl, load it up with your favorite toppings, then let the crew bring it all together with hot noodles and steaming broth.

The noodles are rice noodles (similar to pho), and once my choices were added to the pot, the chef poured in the broth and finished it off with toppings. My favorites? Green onions and seaweed—because no noodle bowl feels complete without them!

Fun fact: Did you know noodle soups like pho and ramen are considered comfort food across much of Asia, especially as a warming breakfast? In fact, in Vietnam, pho is traditionally eaten in the morning the same way Westerners eat eggs and toast.

A Taste of Home with Congee

Right next to the noodle bar was a congee station—and this became one of my absolute favorite spots onboard. Congee is a rice porridge that’s popular across Asia, from China to Thailand, and every family has their own version. For me, it was extra special because it reminded me of my mom’s cooking. There’s just something about a warm bowl of congee in the morning that feels like home.

Eggs Benedict + Noodles = The Perfect Pair

Because it’s a cruise and you can mix and match, I wandered over to the Eggs Benedict station and grabbed an egg to top off my soup. The result? A noodle breakfast masterpiece. This is exactly why I love Celebrity Cruises—you’re not just eating, you’re curating an experience.
