Celebrity Cruise Day 5: Wrapping Up Kochi with Culture, Food & Fun
Wrapping Up Kochi with Culture, Food & Fun

Shopping, Games & Photo Fun
We wandered through the Maruge Kochi store before diving into some lighthearted fun—purikura photo booths, where we got our goofy photo stickers, and the Taiko drum game, which gave us the chance to unleash our inner rhythm masters.
History Meets Serenity
Of course, no visit to Kochi would be complete without exploring Kochi Castle, one of Japan’s few original castles that has stood for centuries. Just steps away, the Yosakoi Inari Shrine offered a peaceful moment, complete with the quirky surprise of chickens roaming around the grounds. Only in Japan!
Foodie Highlights
The highlight of the day? Hirome Market, Kochi’s bustling food hall. Imagine rows of vendors offering everything from fresh sashimi and local specialties to international bites. It’s the kind of place where you can eat your way around the world without leaving the building. And to end the day, we stopped at Lou Pastry Shop, where I finally tried a French canelé—a caramelized little pastry with a custardy center. It may not have been my favorite dessert, but hey, when in Kochi, you try it all.
Final Thoughts
Kochi turned out to be one of those ports where every corner brought something new to discover. From historic landmarks and spiritual shrines to donuts, anime, games, and market eats—it had the perfect mix of culture, food, and fun. Riding back to the ship, we couldn’t help but smile. Kochi, you’ve been amazing!ο»Ώ
